SBC utilizes an MRP system to plan and manage all materials and components related to Turnkey or Consignment Assemblies or Box Builds. It is a fully integrated system managing customer Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements. Our system effectively ensures that materials are available as needed to meet requirements while aiding in maintaining the correct amount of product inventory. The major facets of our MRP system are: open work orders driven by BOM, Inventory on Hand, Part Lead Times, Due Dates, and Traceability of Components used. It is the single most powerful tool in guiding inventory planning and managing procurement and production control.
Managing Customer Consigned Inventory
SBC has controls in-place to effectively manage Customer consignment inventory. This supply chain management system creates efficient use of customer components and materials and allows us to be more responsive to changing requirements.
SBC Unique Part Numbering System
All line items on Customer BOM’s are issued a South Bay Circuits part number. Through this assignment we are able to track details on each component including: manufacturer name & part number, package size, and description. This also allows us to match exact customer part specifications and determine through our MRP system stock quantities on-hand and assignment to work orders for complete traceability. This saves time and can reduce cycle time locating and purchasing parts. It also reduce costs by better managing inventories.
Managed Inventory – Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) & Kanban Programs
SBC has multiple VMI programs/models in place to offer our Customers. Based on Customer supply chain requirements SBC will tailor a system to meet your needs. We can take full responsibility for maintaining an agreed inventory level of your products based on consumption or as required.
